INNOVATIVE NEW TELECOMMUNICATION PRODUCT FROM WEBB

Webb Industries has gained a reputation over the years as being a world-class innovator of telecommunication systems products. The introduction of a new range of UltraFlex coaxial cables from Times Microwave is yet another example of Webb’s innovative offerings. The LMR range of UltraFlex coax is ideal for jumper assemblies in wireless communication systems, short antenna feeder runs and any application that requires periodic repeated flexing.

The LMR UltraFlex has a stranded centre conductor and rubber outer jacket designed for multiple bending/flexing cycles and is used for both indoor and outdoor applications. The flexibility and bendability are hallmarks of the LMR cable design with the flexible outer conductor enabling the tightest bend radius available for any cable of similar size and performance. Low loss is another hallmark feature of LMR. Size for size LMR has the lowest loss of any flexible cable and comparable loss to semi-rigid hard-line cables.

The uniqueness of this product doesn’t stop there. With respect to the RF shielding it is 50dB greater than typical single shielded coax which is normally 40dB. The Multi-ply bonded foil outer conductor is rated conservatively at more than 90dB – that is more than 180dB between two adjacent cables.

According to Paul Richards, Webb’s sales and marketing manager, the LMR cables are also designed with durability in mind with an outdoor life expectancy of more than 10 years. “We have become used to distributing outstanding products from Times Microwave systems and the LMR UltraFlex is amongst the greatest products that we have marketed over the years.” Richards confirms that a wide variety of connectors are available for LMR cable, including all common interface types, reverse polarity and solder-on centre pins. All LMR cable types are available as pre-terminated cable assemblies,” adds Richards.

Established in 1973 Webb Industries has become one of the leading innovators in ancillary products for telecommunications infrastructure. Part of the listed Jasco group, it continues to evolve alongside the rapidly changing telecommunications sector and, apart from its antennas, offers a comprehensive range of coaxial cables and connectors, duplexers and filters, earthing, lightning protection, as well as the supply and installation of masts and towers.
