Webb develops WCDMA antenna
Webb Industries has developed a wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) antenna for Telkom, which has been used to boost data signals for many users of data both in offices and at home.

When Telkom-approved supplier, Cape Town-based 2C Telecoms, approached Webb looking for an external 3G antenna for use on the new Telkom 3G cellular network, Webb’s engineering team developed the solution, which entailed upgrading an existing wireless external antenna to work at 3G frequencies.
According to Webb engineer Terry Reuss, the antenna is a small, versatile panel designed for mounting on a pole or a wall, and can be swivelled at any angle to face the nearest cellphone tower. The panel consists of a fitted cable which screws directly into the 3G data modem and has been specifically designed for areas where signal coverage is relatively poor.
