Webb Supports National Aids Day 04 December 2009 With World Aids Day happening annually on 1 December, Webb Industries support the World Aids Week campaign with banners floating around their factory.
Millions of people worldwide are living with HIV and more are getting infected with the disease on a daily basis. Not to mention the amounts of loved ones getting lost to this disease. HIV is transferred through blood, semen, vaginal fluids or breast milk. Common ways of getting infected:
Like Madiba once said at the 46664 concert in Johannesburg: "It is in our hands". If each and every person take responsibility for their own actions, we could become victorious over this dis-ease. HIV is a virus that attacks the body's immunce system, meaning if you get sick, it can spread quickly out of control. Your body then doesn't have any defense mechanisms in place and you end up having AIDS. A person living with HIV has to be extra careful with regards to their diet and prevention of catching a flu. HIV and AIDS are two different things: when a person is living with HIV, he/she is considered to have the virus inside their body. Only when a person's immune system has deteriorated to such an extent that his body cannot fight off diseases anymore, then that person is considered to have AIDS. What can we do?
The red ribbon internationally symbolises support for people living with HIV. Webb would like to encourage people to ACT NOW by remaining pure. View All Articles...
