RCW Beats the Economy Blues

Radio Comms Warehouse Beats the Economy Blues
Radio Comms Warehouse (RCW), a Webb Industries company, continues to meet expectations in spite of the challenging economic environment. This is according to Webb CEO Paul Richards.
RCW’s Clint Connolly says that while the economy has been challenging, the company has not been daunted. “We increased efficiencies by maintaining a JIT system encompassing purchases, sales and deliveries. Also, we increased stock holding on strategic models to prevent clients purchasing from our competitors and we held off on increasing prices for the longest time in RCW’s history,” he says.
But Connolly says that perhaps RCW’s most important strategy has been to ensure that it is constantly adding value without compromising on quality. ”For example we will throw in a belt clip with certain batteries for no extra charge, a small token but highly appreciated by our customers. We are also working on extending our warranty period on certain products and building a greater mix of products, especially in the accessory and power supply range.”

RCW’s most important product offering is the Nova range, which has established itself not only in the RF industry but in the CCTV market as well. “Bringing into the Webb stable the wide range of Nova products like power modules and battery packs, battery chargers, heavy duty belt clips, ear-phone sets and many others, has supplemented the vast range of products for which Webb has become famous,” says Richards. He adds that the initial aim of the acquisition of RCW was to create a genuine one-stop shop for the two-way radio industry and this has been achieved.
Connolly concurs. “Together we have up to 90% of what you require to do installation work in the RF industry and with our renowned quality, excellent service and fair pricing policy we offer the best value in the market,” he says.
RCW is the first company in South Africa to get NRCS - LOA clearance to the applicable SABS IEC 60950 standard, for its power modules in the radio communications industry. “We were one of the first companies in South Africa to get SABS certification and electronic clearance for power modules,” says Connolly, “and as SABS has adopted the European standard, a very strict code, we regard it as a major compliment for RCW to have been awarded this accreditation,” he concluded.
