Description
Receiver Multi-Couplers (RMCs) are used to split a received signal from one antenna into multiple output channels. The output channels do not interfere with one another due to the high isolation between them. Each RMC consists of a bandpass filter, low-noise amplifier, and a splitter.
The bandpass filter is used to filter out the specific frequency band that the RMC is required to operate in, while rejecting all the other frequencies outside this band. The amplifier is used to increase the power for each channel since splitting a signal into multiple outputs causes power loss. The splitter is used to split the input signal into multiple outputs. The amplifier and splitter is designed as one combination device.
Webb has RMCs available for splitting the received signal into 4, 8, 12, and 16 channels, respectively. The 12-port and 16-port RMCs consist of 2 amplifier-splitter combination devices, 2 bandpass filters and 1 extra low-noise amplifier to achieve the required channels. Webb’s RMCs are available in the VHF and UHF range.
Each RMC has a bandwidth of 2 MHz across all the channels, an isolation of 20 dB between channels, and a VSWR of less than or equal to 1.5:1. The RMCs are powered by a DC supply of between 12 V and 18 V. All the connectors of the RMC are N-type female.
All of Webb’s RMCs are compatible with nineteen-inch (19″)-rack systems and take up a height of two units (2U-3U) per device.
