Webb Golf Day 2021
Friday, 29 October 2021
Webb Industries resumed our tradition of hosting an annual golf day this year, after having had 31 consecutive annual golf days. The only exception was 2020 when South Africa was in the middle of the Covid-19 lockdowns.
The Webb Golf Day is our way of saying thank you to our valued stakeholders for their continued support.
We booked out the entire course with 120 players making up 30 4-ball teams. The game format was a four-ball alliance with two scores to count. The day turned out to be a lovely warm summer’s day and a lot of fun was had by all the players and spectators.
Webb’s new managing director, Paul Fick, addressed the audience during dinner by introducing himself and the company to the guests. It was great to see a lot of new faces in the audience, who appreciated the introduction.
The company is evolving and with continuous change being the only constant, we are propelling ourselves forward into this changing world. We made use of the opportunity to launch Webb’s new logo and brand image, as well as our online e-commerce enabled website. Certainly a dream come true for me personally!
As is customary, the founder of Webb Industries, Mr Murray Webb, joined us again and the audience loved his speech which mostly included a number of hilarious jokes. What a blessing to still have Murray as an amazing mentor!
We had excellent sponsorships from Telegartner and DEHN.
The first prize, sponsored by Telegartner, went to players from Comsol Networks, as well as Vox Telecoms. They tallied up a score of 90.
The second prize, sponsored by DEHN, was awarded to Khuselo Telecoms / AKA Vertel, Nextec and Verstay. Their team scored 88 points.
The third prize recipients scored 85 points. They are, from Eprotech, SGT Solutions and Jaycor International.
The fourth prize recipients scored 81 points. They are, from Comsol Networks and Vodacom.
The longest day (with a score of 54) was grabbed by Rain.
